The ram snorkel has a simpler structure compared to the Vortex. When the car is not moving, the air filters absorb the dust and the air reaches the engine normally. When the engine revs up, the air suction increases and the air enters the cylinders more strongly.
Remember that the Ram snorkel is easier to clean than the Vortex snorkels.
Vortex snorkels have a complex structure and its appearance is similar to a mushroom, which is due to the use of a turbine in it.
It rotates and a vortex is formed above it, which causes the dust to be scattered around and delivers clean, filtered air to the cylinders.
Essentially designed to operate the same way as a vortex head but instead of collecting dust to be disposed of later, it contains slits so water and dust can easily escape.
They are also more enclosed than a ram head catering to those particularly worried about water from rain or car washing getting into their air intake.
